Designation: Research Associate
Research Area: Metric Geometry, Riemannian or Lorentzian Geometry, Mathematical General Relativity, Geometric Analysis
Location: Bundesstraße 55, 20146 Hamburg
Eligibility/Qualification:

  • University degree in a relevant field
  • Research experience equivalent to a PhD in Mathematics
  • Strong background in at least one of the mentioned fields
  • Willingness to collaborate and define joint research projects

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be a part of the Geometry and Analysis group led by Professor Melanie Graf, contributing to the Cluster of Excellence “Quantum Universe.” Responsibilities include academic services, independent research, and potential joint projects connected to Lorentzian and Riemannian geometry, analytical aspects of working with low-regularity metrics, and more. The position offers opportunities for individual research pursuits and involvement in the Quantum Universe Research School. Additionally, the role involves academic and soft skills training, career planning support, and facilitation of educational measures.
