Location: Swammerdam Institute for Life Sciences (SILS), University of Amsterdam, Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Recent PhD degree with a focus on bioinformatics and/or statistical modeling of microbiomes
  • Strong track record with one or more related publications as first author in a peer-reviewed scientific journal
  • Passion for data analysis and possess appropriate computational skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary settings with a strong team orientation
  • The candidate should have the ambition and capability to take ownership of the research project

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing bioinformatics and statistical modeling methods for detection and analysis of direct and indirect effects in the integrated soil-crop-gut-health axis
  • Collaborating with research partners within the MicroHealth consortium
  • Reporting progress and presenting work on a regular basis to research partners and stakeholders within the consortium
  • Publishing results in high-level international journals and presenting at leading conferences
  • Contributing to the fundamental and/or applied research of the Biosystems Data Analysis group
