Postdoctoral Fellow at Hokkaido University: The Institute for Chemical Reaction Design and Discovery (ICReDD) at Hokkaido University, a global research center under the World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI), is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position. This role focuses on groundbreaking research integrating computational, information, and experimental sciences to advance chemical reactions and materials for future applications.

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Area:
The position will focus on synthetic organic chemistry, asymmetric organocatalysis, quantum chemical calculation, and machine learning.

Location:
Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree at the time of appointment.
  • Outstanding achievements and publications in the related research field.
  • Strong motivation for research and excellent communication skills in English.

Job Description:
The fellow will work on the joint research project, “List Sustainable Digital Transformation Catalyst Collaboration Research Platform,” led by Nobel Laureate Professor Benjamin List. The research will involve:

  1. Development of asymmetric reactions using highly confined organocatalysts.
  2. Development of reactions via carbonium intermediates.
  3. Asymmetric organocatalysis using quantum chemical calculations.
