Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Polymer Chemistry, or Molecular Pharmaceutics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in at least three of the following: organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, supramolecular chemistry.
  • Experience in cell biology and/or pharmaceutical research is advantageous.
  • Research-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Interest in engaging with industrial partners.
  • Motivated to enhance teaching skills and mentor students.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English (C1 level).

Job Description:

The selected PhD student will be tasked with constructing polymer-based nanoparticles with motor functions to actively deliver nucleic acid therapeutics into living cells. Responsibilities include preparing polymer building blocks, assembling vesicles with motile features, loading therapeutic cargo, conducting cell uptake experiments, and collaborating with partners at the University of Ghent and Warwick University.
