Ph.D. Research Scholar: Research on Time Series of Forest Canopy Height Models

Investigating the utility of time series of 3D models of forest canopies for estimating forest attributes and production features.

Location:

Nancy, Grand-Est, France

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in forestry sciences, computer science, applied mathematics, data sciences, photogrammetry, or remote sensing
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R programming
  • Advanced English language skills (TOEIC)
  • Experience in machine learning, including deep learning
  • Familiarity with survey statistics (optional)

Description:

The position involves developing innovative approaches for handling the temporal dimension of forest canopy models, comparing different sources of 3D models, and evaluating models for mapping purposes. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with auxiliary data to enhance the accuracy of the models.
