Postdoctoral Researcher – RNA Transport: Join Dr. Katarzyna Bandyra’s Research Team at the University of Warsaw! We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for a project focused on RNA transport to mitochondria, funded by the 2.2 FENG First Team grant from the Foundation for Polish Science. This position offers the chance to gain expertise in advanced techniques such as electron cryomicroscopy and super-resolution microscopy Minflux.

Location:
University of Warsaw, Poland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biological Sciences or a related field (obtained within the last 7 years, extended for childcare or research breaks as applicable)
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in protein and RNA biochemistry, including molecular biology techniques
  • Experience with human cell culture, cell line construction, and super-resolution microscopy
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with Minflux microscopy is an asset
  • Candidate must meet the requirements of art. 113 of the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science (dated July 20, 2018, Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 as amended)

Job Description:
The selected candidate will contribute to understanding mitochondrial RNA transport mechanisms through:

  • Purification of proteins and RNA
  • Biophysical characterization of protein-RNA complexes using MST, FP, and biolayer interferometry
  • Investigation of RNA delivery in human cells using super-resolution microscopy
  • Conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing results for dissemination
  • Assisting in writing and publishing research papers
