Research Area
The research focuses on the morphogenesis of the developing zebrafish heart, utilizing systems biology approaches, advanced imaging, and biophysical methods to address how functional organs are built during embryonic development.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential:
- PhD in cell biology, developmental biology, or in the final stages of PhD submission
- Strong expertise in advanced confocal and/or light sheet imaging
- Expertise in quantitative image analysis
- Excellent molecular biology skills
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven track record of relevant publications
- Desirable:
- Strong understanding of tissue morphogenesis/mechanics
- Experience with biophysical tools
- Familiarity with zebrafish embryological techniques
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead their own projects while collaborating with lab members and external collaborators. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research on key questions related to heart development and morphogenesis.
- Leading and contributing to collaborative projects.
- Developing new tools and techniques.
- Training PhD students and new lab members.
- Fostering a productive and positive lab atmosphere.
