Job Description:
The post-doctoral researcher will join the GrefOrgCat project, which aims to address challenges in electrosynthesis, specifically mass transfer issues, by developing modified carbon electrodes with grafted chiral organocatalysts. Key responsibilities include:
- Studying and applying an electrochemical grafting strategy to attach linkers onto carbon electrodes through covalent bonding.
- Functionalizing these linkers with organocatalysts for enantioselective chemical reactions at the electrode surface.
- Evaluating the reactivity and selectivity of the modified electrodes in two enantioselective aldehyde α-functionalization reactions through radical coupling.
This role is part of a larger effort within the e-CatCH group, known for its expertise in organocatalysis and asymmetric synthesis, now expanding into electrosynthesis.
