Postdoctoral Researcher in Bacterial Infection Ecology: The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Bacterial Infection Ecology Laboratory. This position offers an exciting opportunity to explore host-microbe interactions and contribute significantly to the development of microbiome-based therapies.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed PhD in natural or life sciences, focusing on immunology, microbiology, or biotechnology
- Practical experience in molecular biology, including heterologous protein expression and fluorescence microscopy
- In-depth knowledge of microbiology and experience with microorganism cultivation
- Competence in cell culture and immunology
- Experience with laboratory animals following FELASA standards (or equivalent)
- Basic programming knowledge in R and/or Python
- Proficient in MS Office and strong written and spoken English skills
Job Description:
As a core member of the Bacterial Infection Ecology Laboratory, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Advancing research on the influence of human microbiota on mammalian host responses
- Independently conducting experimental tasks involving bioinformatics and cell assays, validated in vivo
- Preparing and presenting research findings
- Supervising and providing collaborative support to research associates
