Research Associate II: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a skilled Research Associate II to support ongoing research at the NJMS-Cancer Center. The successful candidate will perform independent aging research and assist in lab management, focusing on how nutrients affect aging progression and developing precision approaches to target metabolic vulnerabilities in aging cells.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Minimum Education:
- Ph.D. in a relevant science, or
- Master’s Degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in writing grants, fellowships, manuscripts, and scientific reports.
- Proven record of excellence in research and ability to work independently.
- Competent in standard laboratory techniques and in vivo mouse experiments, including genetically engineered mouse models and aging research.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in metabolomics assays.
Job Description:
The primary purpose of the Research Associate II position includes, but is not limited to:
- Conducting various research and technical operations related to ongoing investigatory activities in the laboratory under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI).
- Managing mouse colonies, including breeding, genotyping, assisting in mouse surgery, and conducting pre-clinical studies.
- Collecting and preparing tissue samples for transcriptomic, epigenetic, proteomic, and metabolomic analysis.
- Overseeing daily laboratory activities, including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
- Participating in the development of performance standards and methodologies for research projects.
- Training technicians and junior scientists on laboratory protocols and procedures.
