Research Area

The project focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence in drug discovery, specifically through structure-based virtual screening methods aimed at identifying drug leads for various diseases.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A masterโ€™s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (machine learning, data science, chemoinformatics, bioinformatics, medicinal chemistry, or closely-related fields).
  • Practical research experience, including lead-author publications in relevant journals.
  • Expertise in developing and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Experience in modeling protein and chemical structures, working with high-performance computing systems, and curating bioactivity/binding data.
  • Experience in supervising students on undergraduate or masterโ€™s level projects is beneficial.

Job Description

As a Research Associate, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting planned research and maintaining data security.
  • Preparing research results for publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
  • Presenting findings at national/international conferences.
  • Collaborating with other scientists and group members.
  • Actively suggesting the next steps in the project and ensuring thorough research documentation.
  • Contributing to research grant proposals and participating in broader research programs.
  • Assisting in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students when required.
  • Complying with the College, Division, and Unit safety practices.
