Research Area
The successful candidate will work on projects focusing on:
- Host plant responses to Cabbage leaf curl virus (CbLCV) and African cassava mosaic virus (ACMV).
- Mechanisms of epigenetic regulation and stability during viral infections.
- Profiling circular DNA molecules and viral populations in crop systems.
Location
The position is based in Leuven, Belgium, at KU Leuven’s Division of Crop Biotechnics and Biosystems Department.
Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD degree in Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Excellent academic performance at the MSc and PhD levels.
- Experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and virology is essential.
Job Description

- Write scientific articles and contribute to publications.
- Co-supervise Master’s and PhD students.
