Description
The postdoctoral fellows will engage with one or more of the following CSEO programs, which collaborate with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS):
- Interdisciplinary Science and Research (ISR) Program: A four-year, research-centered experience for high school students, wherein postdoctoral fellows co-teach a curriculum based on problem-based learning in STEM.
- School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt (SSMV): High school students experience an interdisciplinary curriculum and individual research projects, supported by Ph.D. scientists and educators.
- Day of Discovery (DoD): Middle school students engage in inquiry and project-based STEM learning, enriched by working with researchers and educators.
Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching as a lead or co-lead instructor in CSEO programs
- Designing innovative and equitable inquiry-based STEM curricula
- Guiding student research projects
- Developing a professional growth plan
- Building relationships with VC researchers, MNPS staff, and community stakeholders
Postdoctoral fellows will also have opportunities to evaluate programs, create professional development for teachers, and present research findings.
