Postdoctoral Position in Human Systems Immunology: Lund University in Sweden invites applications for a fully funded 2-year Postdoctoral Position (with the possibility of extension) in Human Systems Immunology. The position starts in February 2025 or as per agreement. This is an excellent opportunity to work on investigating molecular mechanisms of sex hormone regulation in human immune function within a collaborative, diverse, and stimulating research environment.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
- Systems Immunology
- Cellular and Molecular Immunology
- Sex Differences in Immunity
Location: Department of Laboratory Medicine, Lund University, Lund, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Life Sciences (PhD must be acquired within three years of the application deadline or proof of imminent completion by the start date).
- Strong interest and experience in molecular biology and immunology.
- Expertise in molecular immunology techniques such as CRISPR, sequencing, genetic manipulation, and flow cytometry.
- Experience in human immunology wet lab methods (handling blood, tissue culture, etc.) is an advantage.
- Computational biology expertise (or willingness to learn) is preferred.
- Proficiency in oral and written English is required.
Job Description:
As a postdoc, you will focus on investigating immune-mediated diseases with marked sex biases by studying the molecular mechanisms of sex hormone regulation in human immune functions. This involves:
- Using CRISPR systems for gain and loss of function studies in primary human immune cells.
- Conducting transcriptomic (bulk & scRNA-seq) and epigenomic (CUT&RUN-seq) analyses.
- Performing immunophenotypic profiling using cytometry.
You will collaborate with a multi-cultural team in a supportive and respectful research environment led by Assistant Professor Camila Consiglio.
How to Apply:
Send your application by email to camila.consiglio@med.lu.se with the subject line V2024/2563. The application must include:
- A 1-page cover letter detailing how your expertise aligns with the position and your interest in joining the group.
- A 2-page CV, including contact details of 2-3 references.
- A copy of your PhD diploma (or proof of PhD defense before the start date).
