Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, or a related field at the intersection of laboratory and computational biology.
  • Ideally, 1-3 years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Established experience in microbiology (preferably biofilm microbiology), microbial ecology, and bacterial interactions.
  • Proficiency in computational biology tools related to metabolic modeling, genomics, and transcriptomics technologies.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct research on multispecies bacterial biofilms and metabolic cross-feeding interactions with a focus on antimicrobial tolerance and resistance evolution.
  • Perform laboratory experiments, including bacterial biofilm formation assays, genome-scale metabolic modeling, transcriptomics, and metabolite analysis.
  • Collaborate with international research partners, contributing to high-quality research publications and presentations at scientific meetings.
  • Engage in administrative tasks associated with the research project, overseeing project planning, organization, and timely reporting.
  • Participate in networking, research activities, and contribute to the overall research performance of the School.
  • Supervise postgraduate research students and work towards enhancing the School’s national profile through public engagement and collaboration with industrial partners.
