Eligibility/Qualification

  • An Honours degree (First class equivalent) or a Master’s degree with a minimum 6 months of research component and thesis.
  • Must meet ANU’s English language requirements.
  • Motivated to study movement ecology and interested in utilizing state-of-the-art technology.

Job Description

The PhD candidate will:

  • Deploy GPS trackers on noisy friarbirds to monitor their movements.
  • Combine GPS tracking data with traditional research methods, such as field surveys.
  • Work closely with local conservation and land management organizations.
  • Be fully integrated within the interdisciplinary Farine Lab.
  • Conduct fieldwork in remote areas, requiring potential camping.
