Eligibility/Qualifications
- PhD: Materials Science, Material Mechanics, or Production Engineering (PhD degree should not be older than three years).
- Skills: Expertise in in-situ process monitoring, metal AM technologies, materials characterization, or microscopy.
- Experience: Priority for candidates with a background in Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB) of metals.
- Additional Skills: Ability to teach, manage projects, and demonstrate research and educational potential.
- Language: Proficiency in English (Swedish is not required, and Swedish courses are offered).
Job Description
As a postdoctoral researcher, your responsibilities include:
- Conducting advanced research in metal AM as part of the national competence center CAM2 (Centre for Additive Manufacturing – Metal).
- Focusing on quality assurance and process development using state-of-the-art in-situ tools such as Optical Tomography (OT), Melt Pool Monitoring (MPM), and processing gas monitoring.
- Exploring AI/ML methodologies for data-driven decision-making to improve PBF-LB processing and tailor microstructures in real-time.
- Coordinating research projects and collaborating with academia, industry, and society at large.
- Supervising academic and industrial users of in-situ process monitoring tools.
- Teaching at undergraduate and master’s levels.
