Postdoctoral Researcher – CIGS Solar Cells: The International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Salomé Research Group. The successful candidate will work on innovative projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of CIGS solar cells through advanced optical modelling and nanofabrication techniques.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or related fields. Candidates near completion of their PhD will also be considered, provided they receive their degree before starting the role.
  • Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in optical modelling.
  • Familiarity with CIGS solar cells and light management techniques.
  • Valued Skills:
  • Experience with clean room microfabrication.
  • Knowledge of optoelectronics characterization and fabrication.
  • Prior involvement in Horizon Europe and other funded projects.
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct optical modelling of CIGS solar cells.
  • Design and execute nanofabrication processes for light management structures.
  • Characterize and fabricate CIGS solar cells.
  • Prepare and present technical reports related to the Hi-BITS project, which focuses on high efficiency bifacial thin-film chalcogenide solar cells.
