Data Steward (Research Engineer): PSL University is seeking a Data Steward (Research Engineer) to join the ChemAl project, which is part of an initiative to lead the data science/artificial intelligence revolution in chemistry. The position requires a background in chemistry and computer science to develop and manage data infrastructures, create user-friendly tools, and support AI-driven research in the chemistry/chemical engineering departments.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD/M.Sc. in Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in academic or research environments.
- Proficiency in programming and developing scripts (e.g., Python) and using tools such as Jupyter notebooks.
- Experience in developing and managing computer infrastructure and databases.
- Profound understanding of best practices in data management and digital workflows.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of experts and theoreticians.
Job Description:
- Develop and maintain the necessary infrastructure, including databases and hardware, to support the digital transition of the chemistry/chemical engineering departments.
- Create and implement user-friendly tools for interacting with and querying these databases.
- Lead the development of a repository of user-friendly scripts and Jupyter notebooks for integrating machine learning techniques into research workflows.
- Provide training and technical support to the chemistry community on the use of the developed tools.
- Collaborate with an internal expert team and theoreticians from various institutions to tailor and modify tools for specific applications.
- Promote awareness and the use of digital tools within the wider PSL chemistry community (both experimentalists and theoreticians).
- Assist in the identification and development of new research lines related to AI in chemistry, in close collaboration with individual research groups.
- Interact with other academic institutions across the wider Paris region through collaborations with the Paris Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (PRIAIRIE) and the DIM MaTerRe research program of the Île-de-France region.
