PhD Student in Next Generation Electronics: The TRR404 “Next Generation Electronics With Active Devices in Three Dimensions [Active-3D]” is offering several PhD and Postdoc positions as part of its initial funded phase from April 2025 to December 2028. This initiative is a collaborative research effort between TUD Dresden University of Technology and RWTH Aachen, focusing on innovative approaches in microelectronics.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Excellent university degree (master’s or comparable) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Candidates should demonstrate an above-average degree achieved in a short study period.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creativity, and an independent, target- and solution-driven work attitude.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Willingness to work in an international and diverse environment.

Job Description

The PhD student will:

  • Conduct experiments in the Dresden cleanrooms focusing on contact schemes for two-terminal devices and transistors.
  • Characterize the devices electrically.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues at TUD and RWTH Aachen and support various groups within the project.
