Eligibility/Qualifications
To apply for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Biomedical Engineering
- Medical Imaging (or a related field).
(This degree must qualify the candidate for admission to a PhD program at a recognized university or college.)
- Strong programming skills (preferably Python) and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- A passion for advancing personalized cancer diagnostics and treatment through AI.
- Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and a proactive mindset.
Position Description
As a PhD student, you will:
- Work on cutting-edge AI technologies such as diffusion models, GANs, and VAEs to generate high-fidelity synthetic MRI data.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team comprising AI researchers, radiologists, and oncologists from Norway and Stanford University.
- Test and validate innovative AI methods to improve medical image analysis and tumor progression modeling.
- Disseminate impactful research through high-impact peer-reviewed publications and presentations at leading international conferences.
- Have the rare opportunity for a 6-month research stay at Stanford University.
This position does not involve teaching obligations, allowing the candidate to focus fully on research.
