Description
The selected candidate will work on a fundamental research project at the Molecular Plant Biology unit under the supervision of Docent Lauri Nikkanen. The position involves using state-of-the-art techniques, including molecular biology, fluorescence microscopy, and spectrophotometric measurement, to explore the mechanisms underlying photosynthesis. The candidate will have opportunities for international research collaboration and will be part of a vibrant research community dedicated to tackling global challenges such as climate change through photosynthesis research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on cyanobacteria Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 and work with Arabidopsis thaliana.
- Employ various molecular biology techniques, measure photosynthesis processes, and visualize ion fluxes.
- Collaborate with a postdoctoral researcher on a larger project funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
