The recruited postdoctoral researcher will be part of the “Metallopeptides” group of the Chemistry and Biology of Metals Lab.
Eligibility/Qualifications
- Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry.
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of postdoctoral or related research experience.
- Skills:
- Strong expertise in organic synthesis and coordination chemistry.
- Proficiency in the purification of organic compounds/biomolecules using chromatography techniques.
- Expertise in characterization methods such as NMR spectroscopy.
- Familiarity with fluorescence techniques and mass spectrometry, which will be considered an advantage.
- Motivation and prior experience in fluorescence probes and microscopy imaging are highly desirable.
Job Description
The recruited postdoctoral researcher will:
- Synthesize and characterize luminescent lanthanide-based probes (e.g., europium and ytterbium-based complexes) and evaluate them for biphotonic microscopy of live cells.
- Design and develop responsive probes for detecting specific ions like H⁺, Mg²⁺, Zn²⁺, or small biomolecules such as H₂S or HOCl.
- Perform spectroscopic studies (focusing on luminescent techniques) to characterize probes in aqueous solutions and apply them to live-cell microscopy.
- Participate in collaborative research within the LANTEN project involving partners from Brittany, Lyon, and Montpellier.
