Postdoctoral Researcher in Terahertz Science: We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our multidisciplinary team at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Montréal, Canada. This is a 2-year position with the possibility of an additional year. The research will focus on novel nonlinear detection schemes in terahertz (THz) science. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge optical and photonics systems in collaboration with our dynamic research group.

Designation:
Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area:
Terahertz Science, Optics and Photonics, Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering

Location:
École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Electrical Engineering Department, Montréal, Canada

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. obtained within the last five years in a relevant field (Optics and Photonics, Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines).
  • Experience in studying terahertz (THz) waves using optical techniques.
  • Background in quantum optics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ultra-fast time-resolved optical techniques.

Job Description:

  • Conduct advanced research in THz science, focusing on novel nonlinear detection schemes with different geometries, including lithium niobate, towards the single-photon level.
  • Work with a dedicated system, including a Carbide laser and a powerful THz source.
  • Collaborate with and supervise joint projects within the research group.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present results at scientific conferences.
  • Participate in discussions and planning for future research directions.
  • The postdoctoral salary is equivalent to that of the Canadian Banting Fellowship. Further details will be provided during the interview process.

How to Apply:
