Eligibility/Qualification
- For PhD Students: A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, or a closely related field with very good to excellent grades.
- For Postdocs: A PhD in the aforementioned fields with an excellent publication record.
- Experience in large- and small-scale mechanical testing of alloys or ceramics.
- Basic knowledge of electrochemical test protocols is advantageous.
- Prior research experience in chemo-mechanical investigations related to solid-state batteries is highly desirable.
- Excellent proficiency in English for effective communication on scientific topics.
Job Description
- Conduct research to investigate how mechanical stress, defects, and microstructures affect the charge transfer kinetics of lithium alloy anodes and solid electrolytes during electrochemical reactions.
- Characterize Li alloys using techniques such as nanoindentation, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning, and transmission electron microscopy (S/TEM and SEM).
- Prepare research findings for publication in scientific papers and present results at international scientific conferences.
- Leverage the department’s cutting-edge experimental infrastructure for research.
