Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD in computational neuroscience, mathematical psychology, mathematics, computer science, machine learning, statistics, or a related field (or nearing completion).
  • Strong quantitative background with experience in independently conducting model optimization and fitting complex models to empirical data.
  • A track record of publications in modeling human or animal memory (manuscripts in preparation will be considered).
  • Programming skills for running numerical simulations and using large-scale optimization packages.
  • A quantitative undergraduate degree.
  • Hands-on experience with human experimental data collection.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop temporal context models that integrate new empirical evidence from ongoing lab projects.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the mathematical foundations of memory models and engage in independent model development.
  • Work collaboratively with researchers from different institutions, including the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit and Uppsala University.
  • Be required to work from the office in central Cambridge at least three days a week.
