Eligibility/Qualification
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (nanosciences, physics, engineering, material science, optics, or related areas).
- Candidates must be eligible to enroll in the PhD program at the University of Hamburg at the start of the employment period.
- Strong background in experimental work, cleanroom practices, micro and nanofabrication, and optics.
- Prior experience in the characterization of nanodevices is advantageous.
- Self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
- Willingness to undertake mobility and secondment opportunities across different institutions in Europe.
- IMPORTANT: Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Germany for more than twelve months in the three years prior to the employment start date.
Job Description
The Research Associate will engage in:
- Academic services for the CAARE project.
- Pursuing independent research and qualifications.
- Developing methods for bionanoparticles characterization using nanofluidic devices with various functional elements and optoelectronic setups.
- Designing and fabricating nanodevices in cleanroom environments.
- Complying with specific material requirements for biocompatibility and optical characterization.
- Participating in a network comprising multiple European institutions to acquire complementary skills relevant to the PhD topic.
