Eligibility/Qualification

  • Must hold a doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in materials science, bioengineering, biotechnology (tissue, chemical engineering), bioelectronics, or plant biology.
  • Doctoral degree should ideally not be older than three years at the application deadline.
  • Strong scientific background with a solid academic track record.
  • Technical proficiency in bioengineering, additive manufacturing, or stimuli-responsive materials is advantageous.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description

  • Develop biohybrid living materials and devices based on photosynthetic organisms with responsive and evolving characteristics.
  • Innovate integration methods for photosynthetic components into material systems and devices using additive manufacturing.
  • Functionalize biological components with technological and stimuli-responsive materials.
  • Investigate the response and evolution of living materials over time, focusing on sustainability aspects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including experts in organic chemistry and plant biology.
  • Engage in networking opportunities at international conferences and meetings.
