University Assistant Postdoctoral Researcher: The Computational Drug Discovery and Design Group (COMP3D) at the University of Vienna seeks a dynamic and research-oriented University Assistant Postdoctoral researcher to contribute to innovative projects in chemoinformatics and computer-aided molecular design.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed doctoral/PhD studies in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemoinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Science, or a related field, or imminent completion of these studies.
  • Established experience in chemoinformatics and computer-aided molecular design.
  • Proven research competence and initiative through international publications in reputable conferences or journals.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; capacity to teach in German is a strong plus.
  • Experience in research management and supervision.
  • Strong social and communicative skills.

Job Description

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will:

  • Develop an independent research profile in chemoinformatics and computer-aided molecular design related to drug discovery.
  • Lead and guide multidisciplinary projects in hit identification, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization.
  • Play a key role in the research and management of the COMP3D group.
  • Supervise research conducted by master’s and doctoral students.
  • Contribute to teaching activities within the department.
  • Publish research findings internationally and deliver presentations.
  • Apply for projects and raise third-party funding.
