Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master’s, or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related engineering or applied natural science field.
- Completed or nearing completion of a PhD in Structural Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Scientific expertise demonstrated through publications in reputable, peer-reviewed, and indexed journals.
- Very good knowledge in computer programming, concrete statics, and concrete technology.
- Experience in experimental investigations on concrete materials and/or concrete components.
- Experience in nonlinear material modeling for finite element analysis.
- Experience in the preparation of research proposals and successful acquisition of third-party funding.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience in construction automation, machine learning, applied statistics, lifecycle engineering, concrete structures in maritime areas, underground construction with prefabricated or sprayed linings.
- Willingness to teach and supervise students.
- Proficient in German and English, both spoken and written.
Job Description
- Research in the field of structural concrete construction with an emphasis on sustainable concrete structures and digitalization/automation methods.
- Independent proposal writing and securing third-party funded research projects.
- Work on research and other third-party funded projects in the specified field.
- Undertake scientific organizational tasks.
- Conduct teaching activities (approximately 4 SWS) in the field of structural engineering, fostering independent scientific work among students.
- Assist in organizing and conducting scientific events.
- Publish research findings.
