Eligibility/Qualification
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A completed degree at second-cycle level or equivalent qualifications of at least 240 ECTS credits, including at least 60 ECTS credits at second-cycle level.
- At least 90 ECTS credits relevant to the doctoral thesis project, with a minimum of 30 ECTS in a subject closely related to the research topic.
- A solid background in cell and molecular biology, and experience in microscopy and molecular biological techniques.
- Very good written and oral English language skills.
Meritorious Skills:
- Skills in computational biology, image processing, biological modeling, and biostatistics.
- Experience with plant cell walls, phytohormone signaling, and mechanobiology.
- Experience with Arabidopsis thaliana.
Job Description
The PhD student will engage in research focused on the molecular dynamics of cell-cell adhesion in plants. Responsibilities include:
- Investigating how phytohormones integrate chemical and mechanical signals to maintain adhesion during plant growth.
- Utilization of genetics, microscopy, and computational approaches to achieve research objectives.
- Participation in teaching and departmental responsibilities (up to 20%).
