Research Area
The study will investigate the structure and functioning of epifauna communities in OWFs and their effects on plankton communities, exploring how these interactions alter food webs and ecosystem dynamics under varying environmental conditions.

Eligibility/Qualification
- A Master’s degree (or expected graduation before the appointment date) in Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in ecological field experiments and quantitative data analysis.
- Strong interest in marine ecology and multidisciplinary research.
- Experience with sea-going fieldwork and ecological experiments.
- Excellent English proficiency (minimum CEFR C2 level).
Description
The successful candidate will engage in field surveys, lab incubations, and feeding experiments to study the impact of artificial hard substrates on marine ecosystems introduced by OWFs. The research will involve:
- Investigating changes in community structure due to climate change and OWFs.
- Assessing the feeding preferences of key fouling species.
- Analyzing the ecological impacts of biofouling communities on plankton populations.
The role also includes mentoring BSc/MSc students and contributing to the vibrant research culture within the team.
