Research Area
The focus of the research is on characterizing biodegradable magnesium alloys containing Long Periodic Stacking Ordered (LPSO) phases, using advanced imaging techniques to understand their properties and degradation mechanisms in physiological environments.

Eligibility/Qualification

- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel between research centres
Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a correlative imaging workflow for Mg-LPSO alloys and will engage in the following tasks:
- Establishing experimental protocols for imaging using X-ray nanotomography.
- Localizing regions of interest for high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography.
- Performing microscopy experiments and applying deep learning algorithms for data correlation and analysis.
- Collaboration in an interdisciplinary team with opportunities for flexible work arrangements.
