Research Area:
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Power Systems and Stability
- Grid Integration and Control Strategies
Location:
Delft, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Essential Requirements:
- Completed a PhD in a highly quantitative discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Power Electronics, Power Systems, or Battery Degradation).
- Demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary research particularly at the interface of battery degradation, converter control, and grid stability.
- Strong knowledge of power converter control and power system stability.
- Independent, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of grid forming and synthetic inertia.
- Experience with EMTP (Electromagnetic Transients Program) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-loop) simulation.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
Job Description:
The successful postdoctoral candidate will engage in the BATT-AI project, focusing on:
- Quantification of synthetic inertia and system response.
- Modeling and optimization of battery control strategies for inertia provision.
