Postdoctoral Scholar in Complex Fluids: The Complex Fluids and Flows Unit (CFF) at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is inviting applications for several Postdoctoral Scholar positions. Our research focuses on innovative fluid dynamics studies using direct numerical simulations. Eligibility/Qualification

Required:

  • PhD (awarded or imminent) in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics with a major focus on Fluid Mechanics.
  • Experience in numerical simulations of multiphase flows, non-Newtonian fluids, or fluid-structure interaction problems.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Fortran programming.
  • Experience in High-Performance Computing.

Job Description

  • Conduct innovative research in the areas of turbulent multiphase flows, non-Newtonian fluids, and fluid-structure interactions.
  • Publish research results in high-quality academic journals.
  • Present findings at national and international conferences.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage in a supportive research environment.
