Research Area
Focus: Synthesis and study of molecular capsules in synthetic supramolecular chemistry, specifically their ability to catalyse reactions within internal cavities.
Eligibility/Qualification
- First degree in Chemistry or related field.
- A higher degree (PhD) relevant to the research area or equivalent qualifications.
- Research experience in synthesis, particularly in organic chemistry.
- Interest in catalysis/organocatalysis.
- Proficient in NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry for characterising organic compounds.
Job Description
As a Research Fellow, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent research on organic molecular capsules and related systems under supervision.
- Designing, synthesising, characterising, and testing the catalytic properties of molecular capsules.
- Producing regular reports and participating in project meetings.
- Delivering presentations and writing scientific papers for peer-reviewed journals.
- Assisting in supervising research students and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Promoting an inclusive working environment and contributing to the advancement of new research ideas.
