Description
The successful candidate will engage in the following activities:
- Detection, processing, and taxonomic classification of abyssal seascape megafauna, primarily holothurians, using high-resolution seabed imagery.
- Database construction of benthic biodiversity and species traits focused on holothurians.
- Application of advanced macroecological computing frameworks to explore biodiversity-environment-disturbance relationships.
- Development of ecosystem-based conservation management strategies and marine policy recommendations.
- Presenting findings at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed publications.
Successful candidates will join the Functioning and Vulnerability of Marine Ecosystems group at ICM-CSIC and can expect opportunities for fieldwork, collaboration with research institutes, and potential involvement with marine conservation stakeholders.
