Research Fellow – School of Chemistry: The University of Birmingham is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the School of Chemistry. This full-time position is focused on the synthesis and study of molecular capsules within the synthetic supramolecular chemistry group. The successful candidate will engage in innovative research aimed at designing and synthesizing robust organic capsules and examining their catalytic properties.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • First degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Higher degree (PhD) relevant to the research area or equivalent qualifications.
  • Research profile in synthesis, preferably with a significant proportion in organic chemistry.
  • Interest in catalysis/organocatalysis.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research into organic molecular capsules and related systems.
  • Designing, synthesizing, characterizing, and testing the catalytic properties of molecular capsules.
  • Producing regular project reports, attending meetings, and presenting findings to the group.
  • Assisting in the supervision of research students and maintaining research equipment.
  • Disseminating research through papers and presentations at various academic and outreach events.
