Eligibility/Qualification:
- A PhD degree in a relevant field of life sciences.
- Documented publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Research experience in cell or cancer biology, functional genomics, and/or transcriptomics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience with 3D organoid cultures, in vivo mouse models, and analysis of omics datasets is considered a plus.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Characterizing and gene editing cancer organoid cultures.
- Using genetically engineered mouse models to study microbial adaptations.
- Analyzing the cancer microbiome from clinical patient samples.
- Conducting computational analysis and integrating functional microbial genomics datasets from next-generation sequencing methods.
- Supervising and teaching students and technicians in molecular biology experiments.
- Writing grant applications.
The position will involve collaborative research across labs, including travel between the Najumudeen Lab and Dwibedi’s group at MIMS, Umeå.
