Educational BackgroundMaster’s Degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Science
Programming SkillsProficiency in Python and Matlab preferred
Operating Systems KnowledgeExperience with Linux considered an advantage
Research ExperienceFamiliarity with battery research and electrochemical measurements, particularly involving impedance analyzers and characterization techniques
Software ExperienceExperience with DFT software such as VASP or Quantum Espresso is preferred
Language SkillsGood written and spoken English

Description

As a doctoral researcher, you will contribute to high-quality research focused on the structural characterization of sodium-ion battery (SIB) cathodes, optimize cathode materials based on experimental outputs and first-principles models, and engage in collaborative efforts with partners involved in the research project. This position is tied to a significant research venture aimed at understanding the degradation of sodium-ion batteries, particularly exploring layered transition metal oxide materials.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team and gain experience in scientific publication and presentation skills. The position also allows for flexible work hours and provides various support services for your research activities.
