Eligibility/Qualification:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Microbiology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Isolation/cultivation of anaerobes and/or phages
- Anaerobic techniques
- Functional genomics
- Sequencing technologies
- High-throughput assay development
- Bioinformatics
- Analytical chemistry (LC-MS, HPLC)
- Microbial genetics
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills.
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Associate will join Dr. Yolanda Huang’s lab, focusing on discovering new functions encoded among gut anaerobic bacteria and bacteriophages. The role involves utilizing cutting-edge techniques, such as DNA barcoding and high-throughput functional genomics, to explore bacteria-phage interactions and their impact on bacterial physiology and microbial composition dynamics.
