Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD degree in experimental physics, chemistry, materials science, or equivalent.
  • Experience with structural characterization, preferably including carbon materials.
  • Proficiency in Raman spectroscopy, diffraction, small angle scattering, and solid-state NMR spectroscopy is welcome.
  • Experience in assembly and electrochemical characterization of rechargeable battery cells.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Description

The successful candidate will focus on:

  • Structural and morphological analysis of anode materials using techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and electron microscopy (SEM and TEM).
  • Electrochemical characterization of materials in half cells and full sodium ion battery cells.
  • Development and execution of in-house in situ studies during operation using Raman spectroscopy and X-ray scattering.
  • Participation in developing standards and protocols for data format and sharing.
  • Dissemination of research results.
