Eligibility/Qualification

  • A PhD (or about to obtain one) in Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Experience with a high-level programming language (e.g., Python, Julia)
  • Proficient in using and processing various hydrological and environmental data sources, including large spatiotemporal datasets
  • Strong scientific writing skills and a track record of publications (relative to career stage)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will:

  • Work under the supervision of Dr. Simon Moulds on machine learning approaches for reservoir inflow forecasting.
  • Integrate data from diverse sources such as satellite altimetry, in-situ observations, and climate model outputs.
  • Collaborate closely with partners in the UK and Vietnam to improve reservoir operations in a decentralized hydropower network.
  • Contribute to developing new lines of research aligned with the group’s interests and support the preparation of fellowship or research funding proposals.
