Postdoctoral Position in UK United Kingdom

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Jeyaprakash and Hardwick groups in collaboration with the Sanyal group at JNCASR, Bengaluru. This position focuses on studying non-canonical mechanisms of genome transmission in the human fungal pathogen, Cryptococcus neoformans.

Swann Building, University of Edinburgh, EH9 3BF, United Kingdom (100% On-campus)

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Single particle cryoEM
  • Cryo-electron Tomography
  • Protein Biochemistry (including protein expression and purification)
  • Single-molecule Biophysics

Job Description:

  • Conduct research on the mechanics and regulation of cell division and chromosome segregation, focusing on polyploidy and aneuploidy.
  • Employ a range of techniques including structural biology, live-cell microscopy, genome engineering, and OMICS approaches.
  • Collaborate within a diverse and vibrant international research community.
