Eligibility / Qualification:

  • PhD in physics or related field (must be awarded within 7 years prior to the employment date).
  • If PhD was obtained at the University of Warsaw, at least 10 months of research experience outside UW is required.
  • PhD must be obtained in the EU, EFTA, or OECD countries, or nostrified in Poland by the employment date.
  • Strong academic record with publications in reputable journals.
  • Proficiency in tasks relevant to quantum optics, Rydberg atoms, or microwave/terahertz technologies.
  • Open to all genders and applicants with disabilities or special needs.

Job Description:

Based on the candidate’s background, responsibilities may include:

  1. Experimental Physics – Implementation of sensitive Rydberg sensors using hot vapors.
  2. Cold Atom Experiments – Exploration of cold Rydberg atom sensors in the quantum regime.
  3. Electronics – Design and development of microwave/terahertz sources for Rydberg-atom applications.
  4. Theoretical Physics – Development of theoretical models for quantum sensors based on Rydberg atoms.

The project aims to demonstrate novel phenomena like microwave frequency conversion and spatial imaging by exploiting interactions between microwaves and optical photons mediated via Rubidium Rydberg atoms.
