Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or Bio-engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong interest in immunology, genetics, and translational biomedical research
  • Excellent academic track record
  • Hands-on experience with molecular and/or cellular biology techniques or bioinformatic skills (such as R/Python) is advantageous
  • Critical mindset, team spirit, and strong motivation to pursue a PhD
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Job Description

The PhD project aims to unravel the pathophysiological mechanisms of novel genetic immune disorders through a combination of next-generation sequencing, in vitro functional assays, and in vivo models. The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct high-impact research aimed at understanding how specific gene defects lead to immune dysregulation.
  • Identify potential therapeutic strategies.
  • Receive comprehensive support in the preparation and submission of the FWO PhD Fellowship application.
