Research Assistant in Computational Biology: The Department of Ecology at the School of Biology/Chemistry at Osnabrück University is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to groundbreaking research in theoretical ecology and evolution, as well as computational biology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in significant scientific inquiries while potentially developing their own junior research group.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctorate and an above-average academic degree in biology, physics, (bio-) computer science, or related subjects.
- Research focus that complements the work of the research group.
- Proficiency in mathematical modeling and solid knowledge of statistical analysis methods.
- Very good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and with experimental scientists is preferred.
Job Description:
- Support ongoing research projects by developing computer models and performing computer-based analyses.
- Assist in planning experiments and the statistical analysis of obtained data sets.
- Conduct research in theoretical ecology and evolution using methods such as individual-based modeling, differential equations, metabolic networks modeling, and deep learning.
- Acquire third-party funding and supervise student projects (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral students).
- Plan and implement teaching courses in the field of theoretical ecology and evolution.
