Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD (or equivalent international degree) in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields (required by appointment start date).
- No more than three years of post-degree research experience by the start date.
- Advanced experience with basic molecular and/or microbial practices.
- Experience with cell culture and/or bioreactors.
Job Description
The successful candidates will:
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional team at UC Davis and UC Berkeley.
- Lead and conduct wet-lab experiments and some bioinformatic analyses.
- Collaborate closely with the PI (Dr. Matthias Hess), Hess Lab members, and external partners.
- Contribute to research aimed at developing microbiomes that reduce methane emissions in cattle and other anaerobic systems (e.g., digesters).
