Eligibility/Qualification

  • Applicants should have a strong academic background in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience in micro/nanofluidics, fabrication, cell culture, stem cells, and organoids is preferred but not required.
  • Highly motivated researchers with interdisciplinary interests are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

Selected PhD candidates will work on developing organ-on-chip platforms and other biomimetic systems. Current projects include:

  • Airway-on-chip models to study the effects of e-cigarette aerosols, cigarette smoke, and environmental toxicants.
  • Endometrium- and placenta-on-chip models to investigate pregnancy-related and developmental challenges.
    Students will gain experience in microfabrication, biomaterials, advanced cell culture, and translational biomedical research.
