Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in continuum modeling (finite element modeling, computational fluid dynamics)
- Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics
- Understanding of heat and mass transport processes in heat-sensitive materials
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous
Description
The successful candidate will develop multiphysics models for heat-sensitive biological products and create digital twins to enhance the understanding of refrigeration processes, quality preservation, and waste reduction. Research will span over three years, supervised by Prof. Thijs Defraeye, with collaboration opportunities at ETH Zürich.
